Tent City Hire has been servicing patrons of Woodford Folk Festival since 1995. Over the years, the equipment has been continually upgraded and improvements made to facilities. This year, our dear friends at Woodfordia have made some changes of their own, majorly altering the festival site layout. What does this mean for Tent City patrons?

The Tent City facility for season campers will remain where it was in previous years, however, the shorter term (overnight) camp has been relocated to the Eastern Bloc and dubbed, the Tent City Overnight Motel. Within the New overnight facility parking will be right in front of your tent!!!

The turnoff  for this new overnight camp is on Woodrow Road.

A four minute shuttle bus ride will take you and your tribe from the Tent City Overnight Motel, straight into the heart of the festival precinct, significantly reducing the time taken to get you from tent to entertainment.

There will be a café beside this new overnight camp and customs (bag check and bracelet check) will happen prior to hopping on the shuttle.  Disability  Camp  will be placed adjacent to the Tent  City  Overnight Motel.

Please note, it will not be possible to book your tent next to Season Campers as has been possible in the past. Day ticket holders will not be able to access the Season Camping areas at any time. Season Campers though may choose to book their tent in the Overnight Tent City Motel.

You’ll be glad to hear that some things don’t change though. Patrons attending the festival and staying at Tent City need to pre-purchase festival tickets that INCLUDE CAMPING and A CAR PASS FOR TIME OF STAY, as well as booking with Tent City Hire for accommodation. Upon arrival, patrons must exchange their tickets for armbands before proceeding to either Tent City Season Camp or the Overnight Motel. After being welcomed at the reception area, patrons will be escorted to their allocated tent – move in, and  enjoy!

Accommodation packages are available as single, twin/triple share or up to five share in our two room tents. Twin share is ideal, allowing plenty of room for beds, luggage and easy movement. Families and groups can also be allocated tents together, but it is necessary to mention this when booking. For families with small children the two room tents are ideal as everyone is under the one roof and there is still a dividing wall between the two rooms for privacy. This allows up to five people to be accommodated together under one roof.  Again  ask for this when ordering.

The tents are carpeted, screened and fitted with a 12-volt light. All Tent City accommodation includes fold-up bed/s and mattress; you will need to bring your own bedding (sleeping bag or sheets, blankets & pillows etc.) if linen packs are not ordered.

Alternatively  a limited number of linen packs are available for hire. They consist of 2 sheets, pillow case, pillows , doona and doona cover (towels and toiletries are not included). Blankets are in store if an unexpected chill occurs. Cost is $60 for a single bed and $80 for a double bed. Linen packs must be pre ordered.

As a special bonus, your bed is made and ready for you the first evening of your stay at Tent City, if you do hire your linen pack.

The hire of camping chairs and tables is also available for your stay and has certainly proved extremely popular for those traveling with limited luggage space. Please note them on your order form when you  book, though you can still add them later if you so decide.

Plenty of hot showers and toilets are within the facilities’ grounds, and exclusive to Tent City Hire patrons. These units are the envy of all other festival patrons – ask any Woodfordian Tent City patron.

Large hospitality marquee, BBQ’s, cold rooms, gas rings, microwave ovens, etc also offers complimentary tea and coffee 24 hours daily. For an extra few dollars you can even start the day with your favourite espresso coffee from the bar.

Regular patrons will attest to the convenience, warm, friendly atmosphere and cooperative staff that makes this facility a popular alternative – these patrons have become friends over the years and we look forward to catching up with familiar faces and adding new ones to our ever-growing Tent City “family”.
